Knitting Kits

All our products come three ways. Wool and pattern only (for knitters who will have all of their own equipment), wool, patterns, needles, and everything that you might need (as a gift perhaps) and knitted up or made to order to your own specification.

Marion Keightley in East Sussex runs Marion’s Hand Knits. She can knit up these designs for you, or alternatively, a pattern of your choosing; she will advise on its suitability for our wool.

Needle sizing and yarn weights vary from country to country, this guide should sort out the confusion

UK 4ply = US sportsweight
gauge over 10 cm 23-26 sts
Average needle size 3.25 mm- 3.75mm

UK Double knitting ( DK) = US worsted
gauge over 10 cm 21-24 sts
Average needle size 3.75mm-4mm

UK Aran = US Fisherman/Medium
gauge over 10 cm 16-20 sts
Average needle size 4.5 mm-5.5mm

Rugs

Our very tough rug wool is made from the coarser fleeces and spun with extra twist so that it is very hard wearing. There are two colours available dark brown & gun metal grey.
